Film ETC. Association is a nonprofit organization aiming to support the development and promotion of cultural industries and to accompany the professionalization of the cultural sector. Film ETC. Association and its Romanian Film Initiative (RFI) were launched in the fall of 2012 by Corina Şuteu, Mihai Chirilov and Oana Radu, the team that initiated and organized since 2006 the Romanian Film Festival in New York, in order to ensure its continuation and development. With an international reach since its first project, Film ETC. Association has become an important actor within the Romanian cinema sector, developing and presenting the Making Waves: New Romanian Cinema in New York, the fARAD documentary film festival (launched in 2014), multiple workshops, consultancy projects for the film industry and the cultural sector in Romania. Film ETC. Association also carries on the mission and activity of ECUMEST Association, which operated in Eastern Europe between 1998-2008 and developed, among others, the Policies for Culture program. Organized in partnership with the European Cultural Foundation, Policies for Culture supported a participatory approach in cultural policy making throughout Southeast Europe.
