In 1917, a Kansas doctor named John Romulus Brinkley announces that he has discovered a revolutionary treatment for impotence: goat testicles, transplanted to men. From a small-time country doctor Brinkley refashions himself into a national celebrity in the United States, while simultaneously changing the media and advertising landscapes of his time in ways that can be recognized to this day. Animation and ironically-treated archival materials revive a funny and surprising long-forgotten history.
